At Hustlin Hippie, we believe every venture has a story worth sharing.
Some brands are built in boardrooms. Others are built through hard work, real-life experience, and a refusal to settle for “good enough.”
Lucky Chuck is one of those brands.
Founded by AQHA World Champion ranch rider Lorinda “Lo” Van Newkirk, Lucky Chuck Performance Boot Socks were born from years spent living the western lifestyle. From long days on the ranch to hours in the saddle, Lorinda knew firsthand what it meant to rely on gear that could keep up with the demands of everyday life.
And there was one problem she could never seem to solve.
The socks.
They slipped down, bunched up, wore out too quickly, and simply weren’t designed for people who spent their days in boots. After years of frustration, Lorinda decided to stop searching for a better solution and create one herself.
That’s how Lucky Chuck began.
Meet Lorinda Van Newkirk, Founder of Lucky Chuck
Raised in the western way of life, Lorinda has always been passionate about horses, ranching, and the values that come with both. Her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence eventually led her to create a product that solved a problem she knew all too well.
But her accomplishments extend far beyond business.
In 2024, Lorinda earned an AQHA Rookie World Championship. She followed that achievement in 2025 by winning the AQHA VRH Ranch Riding World Championship aboard her standout horse, Check Out My Sparks.
Back-to-back world championship success doesn’t happen by accident.
It takes discipline, consistency, perseverance, and a relentless commitment to showing up every day and doing the work.
Those same values are woven into everything Lucky Chuck stands for.

Why Lucky Chuck Performance Boot Socks Were Created
Lucky Chuck wasn’t created as a fashion brand.
It was created as a solution.
Designed specifically for people who live and work in boots, Lucky Chuck Performance Boot Socks are built to provide comfort, durability, and support throughout long days on your feet.
Their innovative hemp biofiber technology helps manage moisture and odor naturally while delivering the durability needed for ranch work, rodeo competition, travel, and everyday life.
Most importantly, they stay where they’re supposed to stay.
No slipping.
No bunching.
No constant adjusting throughout the day.
Just a better sock built by someone who truly understands the lifestyle.

Building More Than a Product
When we asked Lorinda what she’s building right now, her answer was simple:
“A community.”
That response speaks volumes.
The strongest brands often become something bigger than the products they sell. They bring together people who share common values, passions, and experiences.
Lucky Chuck has become exactly that—a growing community of ranchers, horse enthusiasts, rodeo competitors, hardworking families, and western lifestyle lovers who appreciate products built with purpose and authenticity.
A Lesson Worth Sharing
One of the most powerful lessons Lorinda shared with us was this:
“The clarity you need might be one mindset shift away.”
It’s simple advice, but it resonates deeply with entrepreneurs, dreamers, and anyone chasing a goal that feels bigger than themselves.
Every business faces obstacles. Every venture encounters uncertainty. Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t a new strategy or a perfect plan—it’s simply a willingness to shift your perspective and keep moving forward.
That mindset helped transform a daily frustration into a thriving business and helped carry Lorinda from ranch life to world championship success.

But what impressed us most wasn’t just the product—it was the story behind it.
Lorinda saw a problem, created a solution, and built a brand that serves a community she genuinely loves.
That’s exactly the kind of story we believe deserves to be shared.
Thank you, Lorinda, for allowing us to share a piece of your journey.
